Series I Disco Headlight switch replace?

I am hoping to get some guidance on replacing the headlight switch. I have purchase one - taken the housing off the steering wheel undone two screws and the switch is not sliding out as I expected. Any help would be greatly appreciated before I find more things to break..

You have to yank like a sumbitch... make sure the wires are disconnected too and try not to punch yourself in the nose when it lets loose. Don't ask how I know that.

I recall there being a catch on the switch. Look around till you find it. Gently pry it up and the switch assembly slides right out.

No yanking.

I couldn't find a catch on mine and no mention in the factory repair manual. A good yank and it came out and the new one installed just fine. You're probably right, but it's not visible.
