You just weren't going fast enough ;)

What's the suspension "hack" supposed to be? This idea was BS last time I heard.

The MT/R's are the very worst tire I've ever owned. Ever. I'd rather have BFG TA's. I ran them for 800 miles and sold all 5 to KVT for $100.00.

Guess why I said "hack"? A hack usually refers to a computer intervention, which cutting the rods is not. I made my own adjustable rods, no big deal really to make but they are a total pain in the ass to swap out.

I'm tired of people calling it a "hack" when the only hack involved is from that of a cutting device. Simply put, it is a "modification" not a hack. A hack is making the computer allow on the fly nav input.

Please stop calling it something it is not as if it's some cool inside info.

You like the Nitto's better than MT/R's? In mud?

So, 19" wheels with less sidewall due to both the rim size and smaller tire size would somehow be "better"? Seems silly to me just for a little better bite.

And this crap : "In "new" normal mode, the computer does not kick down at 30mph. Yeah Baby!! In "new" access mode, while driving, the computer still allows all speeds. Whew! Rides like stock at this setting."

...isn't even true. The vehicles do still raise from access level and lower from lifted level at speeds near 30mph. Maybe there is some barely short enough point where you get the higher overall change but that somehow also fucks up the computer to not do it's normal height reset at over 30mph. No one else I asked said theirs would stay in the access level when using shorter rods.

A couple of independent shops here in L.A. have figured out how to modify suspension height on LR3/RRS/FFRR to whatever the customer wants, via diagnostics software. It's a permanent modification though, no "on-the-fly, back-to-stock" magic button. To knock it back down (or up) to stock height you'd have to visit them again so they can input the original numbers back.

Now that's a "HACK" ;) But a sucky one. Hopefully someone in the states will come up with an adjustable deal similar to the Matzker one from Germany that costs so much and is hard to get installed.

Of course they would all probably void all of your warranties except maybe for paint and interior trim materials ;)

I was think more of the 275/65/18's

FWIW, my use of the word Hack is more general, and can refer to the software modification or the physical modification, either solution is sort of a hack solution IMHO.

Well smarty pants, when the hell did that tire come out?

Nice big tire. Even a proper E rating! Too big for practical use though. just like going 3" plus on Discos, you start to get into all sorts of other issues. It's not as simple as stuffing a big ass tire in there.

A 32.1" tire WILL rub in multiple spots when articulated, especially when used like she uses hers. Rear AC buldge, which I don't think hers has would be terrible. Front inside rear wheel well steel buldge and probably the upper tower flange with an 11" wide tire that is that tall.

That's a cool tire though, mods, not hacks, ;p would be required to make it work, but then it would suck driving very far on that tire to go play with it.

If that tire is so perfect a match, why aren't more people running it?

Don't get me wrong, I've wanted taller tires simply for snow clearance but there are just so many issues to make them work, especially on ones like mine with rear ac lines in the wheel well and the buldge in the front wheel wells just inside the sill corner where the RS sliders wrap and then you can't get snow chains on after all that anyway.

Very frustrating.
