SLS Acting Up

I walked outside yesterday and my SLS was at its lowest setting. I know the rover was at normal height when I parked it not two hours prior. I had not messed with anything after parking it, nor do I own a remote control to change ride height from outside the vehicle. I got in and tried the dash-button but the rear did not raise. I consulted the manual and proceeded to drive around the block. When I returned the vehicle was at normal height. The vehicle has not done this since yesterday and I have driven it on multiple errands since. Anyone have any guesses as to why the suspension would lower itself for no known reason?

Vehicle is a 99 DII with 70K miles, all options except ACE.

Also, I have had the dealer replace part of my wiring. They said the fuse box had to be replaced due to a short involving the front AC blower motor. Not sure if it matters.

mine goes down sometimes when i open the rear door. i can hear it "POP" when it starts to go down, it always goes back up. i had my pump replaced under warranty 2 years ago and the dealer said it was fine.... 99 dII also.

Mine first went down like that after a really cold night one winter lats year. Now it goes down only when i first put a lot of wieght in it then goes back to normal after re-filling. I think it is a pain in the ass which is why i am in the process of switching to coils. If you do a search you will probably find this in other threads.

I live in the South and it was around 70 degrees F +- 5 degrees. Nor did I have a heady load in the back. I had about 45 pounds of tools and remived them prior to the deflation. I know the SLS can be a little quirky and had thought about changing to coils. I will call have the SLS checked out the next time I drop it off to have the cruise control "fixed"...again.

We had this problem with our 99 DII when we first bought it. The SLS would hold the air and then randomly the air would leak out and the Rover would sit on its hind legs. Turns out one of the SLS bags was leaking. We had it replaced and it has been fine since. The bags are like $350 and we were charged $300 or so for installation. We needed to have it fixed right away so the dealer was the only option at the time...if I had to do it again I would have switched to coils. Apparently leaking SLS bags are fairly common...some have used fix a flat cans as a cheap fix, YMMV.
