I noticed in the last Atlantic British catalog that they're closing out Terrain Master undercarriage protection and have started carrying Southdown, which looks pretty tough, w/ front axel/diff, steering, rear diff and gas tank skid plates. These look like they'd cover pretty much everything under the truck.

Just wondering what people's experience is with Southdown. Also, the only drawback I see is that it looks like you have to remove the front axel/diff skid plate to check/change the front diff fluid and to change the motor oil. Is that a hassle with this set up?

Also wondering if Southdown has any other distributors in the US other than AB.

Thanks

I believe LR skid plates are from southdown as well.

I bought all 4 of the LR / southdown skid plates (steering, front diff, rear diff, fuel tank) and have been extremely happy with them. The only problem I have had so far is that if you get the steering skid plate and plan on doing a lift, your panhard rod will hit the front steering plater under full 'travel'. When I added a 2" lift and discovered this. I ended up cut a small section of the skid plate away to allow the panhard rod to travel freely. Not a big problem but something to consider.

I've had southdown for years...wouldn't do it any other way. Yes you can change your oil with the guards on. Easy to remove as well
