Any information on the speakers for the '95 Disco? I'm looking to replace mine, but I haven't had a chance to look and see what's currently in there (size etc.)

Thanks!

i replaced my stock 96 speakers with Rockford fosgate through the whole truck. I stil run the factory changer/head unit/amp. I also ripped out the factory subs in the rear door, and replaced with a RF 12 in sub. It's a bit underpowered, but you can tell the difference right off. When the rest is replaced, i will officially be pimped, and rid of those pesky rattles. PS>the front door speakers are a pain to find a thin enough size. have fun tho, that was the first thing that went on my disco, my speaker would 'cry' during rainstorm and eventally shit out on me...

Also try Crutchfield. They have excellent customer service and their online website will help narrow down speakers that will fit your truck. But because the depth is so sensitive, double check for yourself before ordering, databases are only as good as the information being put in - garbage in garbage out.

Mark, The front and rear speakers are 4" and the woofers in the rear door are 6.5". It would be smart to find some very efficient speakers with a sensitivity of 90 dB or more if you do not plan on adding amps. 4" Infinity reference coaxials will increase sound quality and volume with your stock stereo. Thanks all, for all the info. I should have mentioned, the stock stereo was long gone when I bought the Disco, and a Sony casette deck installed. That is destined for the bin, and I have purchased and I'm desparately trying to find the time to install a Pioneer AVIC-N1 DVD/GPS deck. Sweet! SO, while I was dreaming at work, I started looking for speakers, but couldn't remember the size... hence the question. So thanks for all the info.

Did you mount it in the stock enclosure, or did you make a box? Also, did you chuck the factory amps?

All keep everybody posted as I get going with the project.

Cheers,

Mark

MBQuart makes some nice speakers that will fit in the stock front door openings on D1s. You can even use the stock grilles for that stealth look.

If you want great sound, however, you may want to try to fit these . Cheap and sound fan-friggin-tastic.
