Strange sound

Hello All;

I read before about how notorious are Land Rover vehicles in terms of sounds appearing out of nowhere.

I got my truck ?01 SE7, SLS and ACE about two weeks ago and everything has been fine. I hear the usual sounds, tires, transfer and ACE; but last night as I was driving home I began to hear a squeaky noise from the back like when two pieces of styrofoam rubbing together, or sounds like one piece of foam rubbing against something else. When I stop truck then the sound stops, as I pull away the sound comes back. I even lowered the third row seats and remove the cargo cover to see what is causing this. Believe it or not is driving crazy. I think the sound comes when the truck bounces around during movement; it is definitely coming from somewhere inside in rear of the truck.

Thanks

I have a 96 SE7, and had a similar sound.

In my case it was the trunk seats... one of them had several bolts loose, and it was rattling around.

I noticed a similar sound on my 99DII and it turned out to be the jump seats in the back as well. They were not in the latch all of the way so i just pushed them in more and that seemed to do the trick.

Many of the jump seats have their rubber latch pads installed backward from the factory.

I've also found driver's lumbar bladders & shoulder squabs squeaking against the internal padding of the seat.

thanks guys for your comments; I was able to stop by the dealer. One of the services guys rode with me and located the source of the noise. According to him the noise is coming out of the panel on the back of the rear seat; not the third seats.

Thanks again
