Stupid question maybe???

This may be a stupid question but are Disco and Range rover parts interchangable? for instance im looking for a driveshaft/rotoflex conversion for a 96 Disco and may have found one for a range rover. Is it the same item? will it fit?
Also, Whubbout a 99 Disco to a 96...compatible?

the pre 95 short wheelbase classic RR rear drivshaft will fit into D1 as long as you use the pinion flange from the RR as well.
