I have 16 of these corner protectors
they are 1.5"x1.5" 3 sided metal plates to protect the corners of boxes. The would work great for a sub box or "expedition" boxes. They have a one seam has a split on each one so the metal can bend if the box isnt a perfect right angle on one side or another.

They look to be galvanized 1mm thick steel.

obviously you'd want to drill holes to mount via screws or use adhesive.
