Co-worker just brought in a copy of last weeks local sales rag, the kind with everything from auctions to autos to cattle, etc. Proudly listed for sale by a GM dealers trade-in lot, complete with picture, was a 2000 Landcruiser Discovery. Asking price was $19,995. Funny, I thought those Landcruisers held their value better than that. When I get a chance, I am going to go out and look at the front of mine and try to figure out how I ever mistook those 3 inch letters on the hood to read "LAND ROVER". Maybe the guys at the lot can teach me the trick. :D

Remember these are the same people who sell cars to people all day long, most don't care if you can afford it, need it or if the car they show you is the one you want, they just sell the vehicle at all costs.

Some times buying a Disco from a fool isn't such a bad thing. All those oil leaks, drive line clunks, transfer case whine, and the leaning suspension can be reason to knock off a few thousand dollars on all those "needed repairs."

I totally concur with that. When you are buying or selling, although not exactly ethical, you can play it either way to use to your advantage. When I bought my 96 D1, I ran down the list of things "acceptably wrong" with it and got quite the deal. Rear windows not working (15 minute fix), Rear door not opening (another 5), leaks, leaks and more leaks, etc., etc.
