is the trailer on pintle or ball? you can tighten up the tounge on the ball type. how to explain it to you is an other story. LOL

Thats not what the problem is. Its where the 2" square hitch goes into the receiver, not a tight fit and clanks around. I thought about wrapping tape around it but I dont think that will hold up to much.

weld a few good beads on the square tube. then machine down till you get the fit required!

My final solution was to wack the shit out of it with the sledge hammer. That tightened it up.

What you do is drill a hole through the reciever , weld a nut on the reciever and put a bolt in it and clamp the hitch up works a treat.

How far did you drill from the end of the receiver? What size and vertical or horizontal or both?

Word of caution. Don't substitute the bolt/welded nut for the hitch pin Only use the bolt as an adjunct. In general, welding a nut weakens it's strength.

I'd do it horrizontally.
