Vacuum is also relative to your altitude, as well as your mileage and compresson.

Hey Gary, I'm all ears too, but it's hereditary for me, as was my father & his father, too! On a serious note though, how big of tire do you have now? Discos are heavy trucks w/small brakes & tire size does make a difference. What kind of new brakes & rotors do you have? How about brake fluid, do you change it? I'm really a firm believer in changing the brake fluid every year, but I just enjoy changing fluids I guess. It seems to make Rover happy to get the attention, and I sleep better knowing my fluids are clean! Good Luck! LRW.

Mike, Gary lives in Indiana, not high enough to affect vacuum readings.

Aggressive cam will result in lower intake vacuum and lesser assist from the brake booster. But, you have to run a seriously bad-ass cam to get there. Most likely, you need to adjust to the larger tires.

Other than that, consider using the brake setup from late-years Classic, or swap in hydroboost unit from a big Caddy.

measure the vacuum - the booster should be fine with at least 10 in Hg.
how big are the new wheels/tires? You shouldn't feel much of a change with 245/75-16.

I fitted slotted rotors and standard pads to a late model Nissan Patrol (not avilable in US, in Australia)
Made a real positive difference with 35" tyres. Standard 31"
