Hi,

Does anybody know an easy way to get the winshield trim mouldings on the side of the winshield back on? Was driving thru palm springs one day against the wind ( if you are familiar with that area, you know how hard the wind blows) and the wind blew the moulding up so that it is no "clipped" to the winshield anymore. I have tried several time to reattache the moulding but to no avail. If anybody has any tips it would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

according to the workshop manual, there are three plastic piston clips underneath, aside from the three others that are covered by the door (disco ii). I've heard that it takes "brutal force" to put the three clips underneath, front side, to lock in, whereas shop manual recommends removing the ones by the door first. i pesroanlly took advantage of the warranty and got one fixed by the dealers. now that its fixed i am noticing the other side is actually not installed properly -- so will have to ask them again. folks over at the other board were able to do this themselves though. i tried pushing it in, gave up because was afraid of breaking the darn thing. :(

Gread idea about the warranty. I almost forgot about it. Since I bought the disco used, i wonder if I still have it? It is just under 50k and 4 years...

Anyways... Thanks for the advice. I tried pushing the clips back on but could not get it. I gave it up afraid that I was going to break it.

well, technically a phone call to LR should clear that up, miles wise youre 2k close to expiration, depending on the date of the first sale it may be still on (4 year/50K warranty), especially if it was ever "certified" by any LR dealership (adds another 10K and another year.) Technically a certification should never expire (unless viloated) and is fully transferable from owner to owner. LR should have record of this type of thing. Check it out, as you could still have them fix variety of things. My experience was so good on cosmtics they replaced missing wheel caps (stupid $23 middle parts) and other minor nonsense that costs a fortune. The dealer became a "stealer" on other, more important things though. Good luck!
