I know many of you have had a lot of experience dealing with this trio and I need some advice. Our old friends have been popping up since I bought my "04 D2 going on a year and a half now. I replaced the shuttle valve last summer and while that never fixed the problem, the little bastards only showed up about 50% of the time. The lights are now on over 90% of the time.

Scan tool says Shuttle valve switch electrical failure. Is the option B bypass my best next step? Appreciate your insights.

Hi, the shuttle valve connector has 2 pins. These are soldered to a narrow PCB and this narrow PCB has two pins soldered to main valvle block PCB. At the same time the output conector, has its contact pins soldered to this main PCB. Welding between both PCB's uses to fail. To repair it you have to take glue out from some place near main connector and resolder it. This will end with this fault. But, as you can see, there is no warranty in the future not to repeat this trouble trough another welded point. So, I'm happy because my modulator is working and i didnt make this "recommended by everybody" bypass . But its easier to solve it by doing this connection.

Regards

Thanks. I’ll pull it this weekend.

Option B is a perfect fix for the weak link inside the Wabco ABS Modulator Unit. It's not some hack job! All OEM functions remain intact and functional. It simply gives you a solid path to the Shuttle Valve Switches vs going thru the ABS Modulator Unit itself plain n simple.

Get a scan tool. I used Hawkeye to get mine finally figured out. I believe my issue was a cable going from sensor to firewall. Lots of good videos. I didnt rewire all the way to the module, I just cleaned up the connector and fingers crossed.

I guess my point is that there are a lot of things that can throw up the lights so get a scan tool and start investigating.

Well, I finally had some time this weekend and got around to option B - Worked. Test drove it and no lights. Tested hill decent and it worked. My soldering skills aren't that great, so hoping my connections hold and it's adios amigos!
