yes i really did it........ i was stuck and had water come in although not a lot. i would say the bottom 2 CDs got wet(damp) i did not try to turn it on until i got it home and dismantled it.(did not want to spoil my weekend.) anyway after an initial dry out period i get an error code on my stereo, and the 6 pack cycles around a bit. it also took 5 or so tries to get the cartridge to eject, there was action but no "pop out". what do i do? can it be repaired? will it work with some more dry time with a hair dryer? really torqued about the whole thing, i know better!!! any help would be appreciated. |

You did the right thing, dry it out ,and check the fuses . See if you stereo works without the CD connected and the retry it. Good luck. |

A can of tuner cleaner WITHOUT lubricant from Radio Shack might be the perfect thing. It is like carb cleaner for electronics. |

As far as I know, (I worked at the shack for 4 years) all the tuner cleaner varieties have lubricants. What you want is a simple contact cleaner. Some are kind of nasty on plastic so don't rule out a "cleaning cd" you may just have some haze on the lens. |
