I had dual sunroofs in my last two Discos. The first one my mechanic replaced the cartridges on both front and back. I couldn't sit down for a week (nearly $1000.00), so when my current one started banging and binding when I hit the button, my mechanic did some research and found a service bulletin to help this. It involves trimming the little bump stops in the front of the sunroof-very simple. I will be happy to fax this to anyone who wants it, but it will be at your own risk!! If you trim too much, the roof will rattle and not line up correctly. I fixed both my sunroofs and saved me a bundle!! email me w/ fax # if I can help...PS: this is for Disco 1.. |

My front sunroof is loose, i.e. it makes rattling sounds every time I go over a bump when the sunroof is open. I was told there's no "cheap fix" for this; I just have to replace the sunroof. I don't have a fax machine either but if your solution would help my situation I'd like to know about it too! |

Check your dealer. Some carry a rail replacment kit. It is a mere $69 and will solve some of these problems! pk |

1996. I have a 1996. Even in typing my correction I still wrote 1997 twice instead of 1996. Something is going on here... 1996 1996 1996 1996 1996 |

I had a 1996 and now a 1997. Both had the same prob. My first one banged until it binded up and broke the cartridge. Expensive lesson, this trick worked on my 97. |
