The biggest improvements in reliability were from 95 to 96 so your ok either way. I have been told that the 97s and later were even better than 96 since they ironed out some bugs. In either case your not buying a vehicle that is known for its reliability.

EXP 3 may be right. The prices sound a little high if you are paying cash. Of course if youre financing with a dealer lot, you will get screwed for your cash.

dear retard,

as pk mentions, 97s are marginally better than the 96s.

Realize, if you find a great vehicle at a great price on the other side of the country, it will probably be worth having it transported, if you can't find what you want locally. Also, you can use great buys that you find elsewhere, print them off and have them in hand, and negotiate on the price of one of the ones that is closer, if you want...

FWIW...

how much does it cost to have it transported?

Depends on how you do it.....

Some places transport a lot of 'em, so they have better deals. ie, to get a Disco from Tulsa to Kingsport, I paid $300, via the person I bought it from. To get an independent trucker to take one from Denver to Knoxville, it was $700. Coast to coast, I'd expect $1000 to $1200. Also, it depends on if it is an open flatbed (cheaper), or if it is an kid-glove-type enclosed carrier (pricy)....

FWIW.....
