Blake, Your best bet is to remove the indicator unit and proceed with caution, if you tear the plastic you're sort of screwed (no replacement parts, dealer will ding you $150 for it, aftermarket sources run at least $100, discountrovers.com might have it the cheapest). FYI I bought a replacement off of ebay for $60 or so, I still have the contact information for the seller if you destroy yours in the process. 1. Take shifter(pop center piece out to access retaining nut) and transfer case nobs off (screws off). 2. Remove plastic piece around shift indicator (should pop off, don't pry too hard) and plastic trim plate around window switches. 3. Open the cubby box and remove the 2 screws in the bottom. 4. There should be two more screws to remove up front where the center console unit runs into the dash (it's been a while, so forgive me for not knowing the exact location). 5. Remove the entire center console (pull up on the p-brake very hard in order to get the console over it, otherwise you'll have to dissassemble the p-brake....not something I'm familliar with). 6. Remove the 4 screws from the shift indicator unit and lift the unit out. This should enable you to realign the base (little ball) with the black plastic ribbon. 7. Reverse procedure to install Email me if you need any more help [email protected] |
