Getting that time of year again when my wife wishes I had heated seats in my D2. Pried off the switch cover plate in the center console and found two connectors with 5 wires going into each. On drivers side, green plug with following wires : blue with gray stripe, red with brown, red, blk, and green with white. On passengers side, black plug with following wires: blue with pink stripe, red with brown, red, blk, and green with white. Other than buying the switches and hoping I have the heating elements or removing the upholstry from a seat, is there an easy way to tell if I have the elements? I have the duragrain interior, year 2000. Thanks. |

What Don states is false. With duragrain seats, you probably do not have the heater elements http://www.discoweb.org/seatheater/index.htm Figure 7 shows one empty connector that one of the heater elements plugs in to. What is deceiving about the whole deal is that the wiring harness for the seat heater elements is present in ALL Disco2 models, regardless of whether or not your truck is equipped with the heater elements. The installation is very easy and is a great option to have, but do not get fooled into thinking you have the elements because the switch wiring harness is present. |
