I'm getting to replace my stock D2 bumper with one from RoverTym. I'm going to lose the factory fog lamps in the process. Would it worthwhile to mount some Hella fog lamps on the bumper as a replacement? Would they be too high to be of any use? If not fog lamps, what other choices would be appropriate? Thanks, Kyle |

yes to Hellas. You could probally incorporate the old wires and switch from the previous lights. |

As long as you are running 55 watt lights, you should be fine using the stock wiring, although you will run the risk of possible warranty issues, so you may want to clear it with your dealer first. The fogs on the bumper will still add some wide spread light, but they are not going to physically be as low under the fog as they were before. |

Kyle, Haven't seen you in a while, how the hell are you? I'd love to check out your new bumper when you get it. Carl |

Carl, Sure thing on the bumper. Went to the MAR last weekend and had a great time. Most of the group from the Sullivan County excursions was there (Glenn, John C., Frank) But no Carl or Dean! What lights did you mount on your bumper? I'm not sure I'm going to get much bang for buck mounting fog lamps with them being mounted higher up than stock. Kyle |

Kyle, I have cheap Hella 500s. When I put them on I was parking on the street in Brooklyn...I didn't want to find my $300 lights missing so I went cheap. When I swap my bumper, I plan to put cheap fogs on, so if they get ripped off off-road I won't care....but I do plan to replace the 500 with 4000s on the bumper. I figure...I have the switch and wireing ready for the fogs, but it's 55 watts...not to usefull for much else...unless you use another relay. Feel free to drop me an email if you want to chat about it in detail...or give me a shout if you need a hand installing them. Carl |
