I have a 88RRC and I am thinking about trading it for a '99 or newer series 2 Disco. I have done a good amount of work myself on my rangie, head gaskets, shocks, springs, heater core, radiator, etc. So I am not afraid of taking it apart. I plan on doing the maintience on the disco. Question, is there anything on these model year discos I should look out for or avoid? I like the option of the adjustable rear air springs, but do these have problems like those associated with the RRovers? Problematic and expensive to repair. One reason I want a new rig is I want to spend more time in it than under it! If you see this message in other places SORRY. New to board... |

The SLS springs are okay but they can fail. I don't think they're as prone to failure as on the RRC. The air springs on the D2 are only on the rear and not on all four corners. 1999 and 2000 D2's are okay but if you wheel I would avoid the 2002's. |

I'm interested in the airshocks because I pull a camper. When I pulled a camper in my 88RR the rear was always down. What's the deal with the lockable diff on the D2? What years have it? |
