pcv

there is one on each side and slides into the valve cover. the tube that runs from the pcv to this one either side. some kind of breather valve?? LR dealer said you have to buy the valve cover to get the part.
mine was nasty as hell when i took it out to replace the rubber hoses. just cleaned out with carb cleaner.

thanks.

Thats a crankcase vent if I see the photo correctly. It vents out of the valve cover, right?

Actually, I can see it's on the otherside...the side with the oil filler neck. In that case it's the valve cover breather and mounting plate and filter...

it's on both sides in the same place. my first assumption was a breather, but was not sure and thought the dealer was whacked when he said i have to buy the cover too??!!! what is up with that. it just presses into the cover......it is not a part of it.

I think it is an oil seperator, same thing as the breather valve, if I see the pic right. I removed mine, put a small breather filter on the valve cover and put a dead end tube on the other end. Cant imagine buying a whole valve cover for that.. JMcD

harrisburg dealer. about 1 hour and 15 min. they have a pretty nice setup and always a few cool rovers out front. if i call by noon i will have a part the next day via standard USPS. pretty nice. usually just odds and ends parts.....nothing expensive of course. nice folks though.

Rob,
Surely you are not even considering giving any possible credit to Ascot Motors as a Land/Range Rover dealer!!! It would be better to drive to the MD/DC area than to use those guys. Totally f__ked me over when I took my D90 there for a warranty issue. Raises the blood pressure even thinking about that place.

Does anyone have any idea why Pittsburgh doesn't have a better LR dealer? I was hoping to get one with the new Jag and Volvo dealer in Wexford. What other options are there in the area?
