My '95 Disco just started stalling on me the last few days. It has fresh plugs, etc. and has been running great up until this started. Any ideas from the experts?!

Thx
Don

I should expand... it not's holding it's idle. Drops from 900 rpm to zip periodically. Runs perfectly otherwise. ???

First, Check your timing, I have a 95' also and find that it is sensative on it's timing.

Second, check your vacuum line to the distributor. There is a little plastic piece that could be cracked or broken and is screwing with your vacuum advance.

Third, check the Air Idler By-pass valve. It's located on the passenger side, top, rear of the engine. If you look in the archives here you'll find more discussion of it.

Good Luck,

Mike

Do you have an aftermarket rotor on. I had two Beck Arnley rotors go bad in 6 months which caused similar symptoms.

Mike, tried your suggestions without luck. Bryan, had a LR rotor installed around three months ago without any problesms. Any other suggestions? Thx guys

Don,
Any check engine lights or codes from the little black box under the passenger seat? Have you ever changed the fuel filter or checked fuel pressure? How many miles on your rig? FYI, my fuel pump started going TU at 90K and began to cause "hard start" problems.

Hey Mike:

It was the leaky vacuum line. Thanks to you and all the others for the advice.
