Would someone tell me if I have to loosen the fan belt in order to change out the high pressure line ? I disconnected the ps line at the ps box and seem to have difficulty getting behind the pump. Also, could you tell me how to adjust the belt if I it comes to it. First of many times (it appears) that I have performed any shadetree work on my truck. Thanks. |

What vehicle and year are we talking about? If you are talking about the serpentine belt on a 95+ Disco 1, there is a fan belt tensioner that is used to remove the belt. There is no adjustment because it is spring loaded. You turn it clockwise to relieve the tension (and remove the belt). Thanks, Mike B. |

Thanks Mike, - As it turns out i have a 1996 Discovery 1. I was able to figure out the belt tensioner but had a great dal of difficulty getting the high pressure line off. I need to know the easiest way to get the line back on. Should I take the serpentine belt off ? Thanks for helping me out. |

When I removed the high pressure line, I didn't have to remove the serpentine belt. That being said, it wasn't easy. Make sure that you use a flare nut wrench so that you don't round off the edges. |
