Need some advice on what purchase to make next. I have brush bar and lights on my disco II and I am ready to make another large purchase. What do you all think, roof rack, winch, sliders, underside protection? Which is the most practical?

Thanks,
Tom

Did you lift it yet? Get some springs and bigger tires, it really makes a Disco stand out in a croud of other mall crawling soccer mom Discos.

Start slow until you know what you'll really need. Echo Will's comments on tires/lift. Then protection and recovery. Most likely, you'll break the front air dam, don't be afraid to cut it. Front recovery points on the DII are a pain, not easily accomplished unless you get a new bumper. Do you have ACE? If so, lifting more than 2" might cause a problem. You can use the rear hitch as rear recovery, get some straps and shackles and a high-lift at the very least. You might also consider a retrofit CDL shifter.

if i had a disco2, the first thing i'd do is CDL install.
that would tremendously increase the off-radability.

it doens't cost much. just have to find a junked disco1 and yank out the CDL components. install it following:

if you can't easily find a lever from the junkyard, contact bill at GBR. he has should have some solenoid activated CDL thing very soon.... he might even have them now.

after that, sliders... then tires and lift.

are you making fun of my sliders Ho?? or just my bumper?

i don't want to have to bring up that 'small' asian issue.
