Every year when I go to get the anual inspection, the emissions reading is almost 0. Think they check for CO2 and NO2, which cannot excede 2%, or something like that. Mine reads .01%, every year. The test is at idle though.

Is this the reading every else gets at your inspection??

My D1 passed this past July below my wife's Honda emissions! When I boasted of the Disco's stellar marks at smog check, she reminded me that her car also did 250 miles on a ten-gallon tank!

Has everyone had this experience?

Hi all
why can't Rover's be tested under load? My Disco 1 was put on the "treadmill", not sure what the right name is, and I think it was tested at different rpm's. for what it's worth the test are as follows.
HC GPM 0.2391
CO GPM 1.5446
CO2 GPM 662.6238
NOx GPM 0.7188
It passed but the CO2 didn't show a pass limit
Thanks Max

If you read the sticker above the radiator under the hood it will tell you why it is exempt.

It can't be tested under load unless it is tested on a 4 wheel threadmill. Otherwise your t-case will be damaged.

Just had mine tested, (Vancouver Canada) it was on a 4 wheel treadmill. It is kind of weird to see your Disco doing 90kph and going nowhere other than a slight side to side motion.
