Hi All,

1996 Disco V8 - anyone out there know if it is possible to change the radio and still keep the volume up and down buttons working. I am looking at a Sony but don't want to lose the use of the volume buttons.

Thanks
Struan

I'm almost certain that you can't replace the stock unit with anything and still retain your volume controls. With that said, I think it's worth it to change the stock head unit and forgo the volume controls for quality sound. Also, if you're going to "upgrade" the head unit do so with a quality piece. IMHO Sony makes horrible car audio stuff! The stock unit is better than any sony you could get. Maybe add a "Real" amp and subwoofer to the stock unit. It doesn't have enough power for the system and the stock sub just plain out sucks! Too small to be considered a sub. Again this is just my opinion and I'm no expert! Good Luck, and if your stock deck is shot and you need another shoot me an e-mail.

I sell an adapter that allows you to use the OEM radio controls with ANY aftermarket radio that has a wireless IR remote control included with it. Let me know if you want any more details. It is made by PAC and the part # is SWI-X or SWI-3. Each will work on the Disco's, all year models with remote dash volume, etc. Sells for $60 + freight.
