I've got a Nokia Car Kit and have fitted it to my Disco II. Everything works great even down to radio muting and audio through the car's speakers. However on the car kit there's a blue wire for ignition sensing. The kit seems to work without it connected but does anyone know where I can connect this and what it does?

Saw your post - I want to do something similar, but with a 'speaking' GPS instead of a phone. Would you be so kind as to tell me what year D2 you have (mine is a 2001) and if you have the stock radio, or upgraded? (Mine is stock).
Did you hook up the kit, or a dealer? If you did, I'd appreciate any details you could provide. I'd like to identify what Disco wires were tapped into to make this work.
Hooking to the ignition wire would provide 12vdc only when key is turned. I don't know why this would would be necessary, though. You can get this from the white wire on the big harness/plug that goes into the under-dash fuse block.
