My 95 D1 has 115k+ and the rear resonator and pipe in front of it has holes. So, called up Midas, this one doesnt sell Flowmasters, but sells their brand "Ravin" (could be Raven). I just had an east coast Midas install a Flowmaster Series 40 in the wifes 4x4, and really wanted that in my D1. But, I went to the shop and found:

Ravin - much heavier duty looking. I'd guess its 25% Heavier than a simlar sized FM40. I know, heavier isnt better, but in general, I was sold by his pitch and had it installed, along with removing the rear resonator.

Overall, I am happy with it, its louder (duh) but no real performance difference, hard to tell 'seat of the pants', especially with a dog V8 like the Rover, but I'm still happy with it. Just a thought, for anyone looking at mufflers.

I got the muffler about a year ago. Not a bad muffler, but the thing is a little too loud for my taste. I must have aged a lot in the last year, because I loved the sound when I first got it. Now I'm just annoyed.
