I tried looking in the achieves on this question but came up short;

"What is the main difference between the Power Tank and the Trail Air?"

Besides the fact that the Power Tank looks much better is there anything technically different? I pondered on making one myself, but quality parts got pretty expensive so I dropped that.

I know I'm just a cheap bastard so there is no need of informing me of the obvious..:)

Thanks
Carl

Why are you cheap? If "A" is of equal quality of "B" and works the same but is less expensive, why does this make you cheap? I'd say it makes you a little bit richer in your wallet.

Well, one difference is Trail-Air no longer exists! LOL.

Trail-Air is now 4wheelair.com, a new web site will be up soon.

You can make your own for cheaper than any other alternatives, but there really isn't a major difference between the two available setups except in terms of cost. You have to decide if the handle and looks are worth the price difference. Also, they do use different brands of regulators, and PowerTank's are supposed to be custom built, etc. etc., but I have had zero issues with my Trail-Air...oops 4Wheel-Air setup.

The valve on PowerTank is better and the tank is shorter and wider. Last time I looked the Trail Air was fixed at 70lbs or so whereas the PowerTank is adjustable to up over 120lbs.

Thanks,

Mike B.-

I have to disagree with you on the Power Tank vs. Trail Air.

I have Trail Air, which has a fully adjustable regulator, and they both fit into the same size fire extinguisher bottle mount, so I don't think there can be much of a tank size difference.

Power Tank does make a "Junior" version with a fixed rate regulator, maybe you are thinking of that one?

John:
Cut the guy some slack, he already said he's a cheap bastard!

Think about it this way, if he wants to expend the energy to educate himself about gas handling hardware, maybe he'll realize that his time is worth more than the cost of buying from you and he will come to your way of thinking. Maybe not, but sounds good!

Hehehe

I've put off the thought of making it myself as high quailty parts are to expensive. I guess the info I was hoping on getting was more in the lines of; One uses this regulator and these fittings ++++ pro and cons with both...

Yes I could have called you John, but I can't always bug you each time I have a newbie question...:)
