My 2001 Disco was broken into last night. Needless to say I am pissed. My insurance company recommends a shop to replace the broken window. It was the front passenger window. My question is: will just any shop be able to replace this window? Do I need to have the dealer replace it? Of course I want a Land Rover Genuine part. Any experience with this or advice is appreciatied. |

had the same thing happen to me. I went to a Land Rover dealership and just bought the window $250-rip off. It is not a difficult job - I bought it from the dealer since they had the one with the optikool (sp?) tint. I then just paid some guy $50 from the glass replacment co to do it. Took him about 30-45 minutes. This was the rear driver's side window so I don't know how hard the front window will be. There are guys who will come to your house and do it - the insurance co can probably recommend someone. I would just have the window already there waiting on them - they will not have your window in stock - might but I doubt it - they told me the did and of course once the guy shows up they don't have it. The windows from rover have all the necessary parts (some metal piece on the bottom). Disco II |

I replaced my front windshield back in July (cracked). The auto glass place that my insurance company recommeded did the work. No problems with the install. I did however use Ford replacement glass instead of LR glass. Cost wasn't a factor, it was just quicker to get the Ford glass. FYI. |
