I never owned a vehicle that was finished with clearcoat before, but my '96 shows textbook examples of clearcoat failure. As the spots are all in a line, it's an obvious fault in the electrostatic application of this final layer. Anyway, other than sanding it out and painting the entire vehicle, is there any way to buff out or solvent strip the clearcoat? Then again, I guess I could just get a hood black-out decal.... I'm not 100% sure when LR when to clearcoat, but it was much later than most manufacturers. Explain the spots appearence and why you make the statement you do Body shops fix cars all the time and only clearcoat the repaired panels |

LR more than likely uses Glasurit. The best paint made German. The logo is a parrot. |
