I was lookin around for skid plates and information on them. I was wondering: how important is it to have skid plates? And also, are there any out there that arent like 300 freakin dollars a peice?

get diff guards first. you can get a good set for about $200 for both. start there. the others in my opinion are just fluff for most of us. drive carefully and not like a moron and that is all you will need. next protection after that i would go with some good sliders.
Dee Cantrell (on this board) is making diff guards for D1's and D2's. they look to be pretty stout and others on this board have them. he is out for a few weeks, but will get back to you if you email him.

Rovers North do a great front diff guard (even for a D2) that's strong and won't fall off. Reasonable price too.

Check out Dee's diff gaurds if you have a DI. They are well built and are offered at a good price. See ../12/9771.html"#444444">

Yeah,

Diffguards and sliders are the only thing you really need. Beef us the suspension components (or weld 3cm angle iron to the tubes as I did) and that is all you need.
