my manual rear-view mirror on my 95 Disco fell off (just came unglued from the windshield). What adhesive do people recommend to re-attach it? Thanks. |

do not attach/glue the mirror directly to the glass. The glass and the base of the mirror expand and contract at different rates and will cause your windshild to crack. I found this out the hard way. Stop by a windshild replacement shop and they should sell you a 3m pad for a buck or two. |

Neal might be right but if you decide to go the adhesive route anyway they sell adhesives specifically designed for the purpose at any auto parts store and maybe even wal mart. |

cool, thanks guys. actually, looks like it was probably a 3m pad that had it attached, but the pad split?, so that there is still skinny base attached to the glass, and a skinny base attached to the mirror. will see if i can find the pad, but if not, should be able to just use adhesive between the two pieces of pad. |

there is a 2 part 3M epoxy that is used. It is usually not found in stores but sold only wholesale. Find a large glass chain.. Safetylite or Giant glass and they will reattach your rear view for free (might have to slip the tech $5). |

I know everyone hates to buy from the dealer, but from my experience on my '95 disco, the best solution (IMHO) is to just get the original adhesive from the dealer. I've tried the rear view mirror glue, 3M double-sided tape, super glue etc. and my mirror just falls off. If you do choose the dealer option, specify that you want the black adhesive pad specifically for the manual mirror. Oh and it costs $10. |
