I will apologize in advance for the vagueness of this question, but here goes.... My 96' Disco, has recently developed a noticeable low pitch squeak when I start out from a stop. My Disco is a five speed with 114,000 miles on the clock. The noise seems to be coming from the left front wheel...as best as I can tell. The truck is running, driving, and stopping fine. There is no squeaking during braking, nor does she pull to one side or the other under braking. Fuel economy does not seem to be affected. I am noticing a little more brake dust on the left front wheel than the right, but this may just be my imagination. It does not squeak everytime I stop and start out again. But it does seem to be more prevalent if I am starting out on a grade. I am confused. Brakes? Suspension? Driveline? I am hoping someone may have encountered this before. Sorry for the long post....thanks to anyone who may want to share their insight. Cheers, Ted |

Thanks for the suggestion. If I determine that the noise is coming from the trans. bell housing; what am I hearing? Thanks for the help. Cheers, Ted |
