Want to get one so that I can communicate when I go wheeling with you guys in N. Cali. Thinking about an (cheap) handheld CB or the motorola talk about. Which one should I get? Any opinion? ---Charlie |

I'd say that really depends on who you go wheeling with. Most enthusiasts have CB radios. Then some groups/clubs use TalkAbouts. It really depends on your situation. I'd say for a general recommendation - go with the CB. |

See the thread "FRS Radio Advice..." in the General - Non-tech section of the board. It may not answer all of your questions, but it should help you make a decision... Jason |

Everyone I ride with use the FRS radios. It seems CB's don't work any better on the trail, although I have one in the vehicle just in case. Radio Shack has a mobiel type unit with magnetic antenna they say has a 3 mile range. |
