I am in the market for a roof rack to go on my D1, and I really like the racks that go down with the roofline of the truck. Are there any other racks beside the adventure rack from land rover that look similar. I know many of you like the flat roof racks, but that's not what I want so don't suggest them...that seems to be what happens with most other peoples' questions. Oh, and if anyone knows the prices and places to buy, that'd be great too.

Dont know if they're avail to you but the brand that is like that in AUST is TJM. Rated to 160kg on top if memory serves me right. It has been a good rack for me. Light alloy but strong.

Hmmm, if memory serves I think Safety Devices in the UK (www.safetydevices.co.uk/4x4/discovery.html) has both the flat and two-stage roof rack but I'm not 100% sure. Stable Engergies, located in New Jersey, can ship and price it for you but, it will take a while for you to get it across the pond (www.stable-energies.com).

By the way, their site (Saftey Devices UK) is down now for some maintenance, but should be up soon. The link above is to their old site. It contains pictures and prices of their roof racks that they manufacture for Land Rover Discovery's, Defenders, Freelanders, and Range Rovers. Most of which was engineered for the Camel Trophy. Hope this helps.

Regards

Funny you should ask. I have a brand new Adventure Rack for a Discovery II. It will fit a Disco I. It has one minor scrape that went through the powder coating. I have treated it with a rust inhibitor. I would like $750 fo the rack, complete with hardware. Call me if you are interested. 4102272523

Brad,

Check out TLR, they have a rack identical to mine. It comes with four Bosch lights on front and two Hella 550s on rear. It also has seven d-rings on each side and down the middle. It is the most heavy duty rack i know of. There were only four or six of them made for LRs Atlas Mountains Expedition. Check out the website at www.tntlr.com. You can see a pic at my gallery.
