Hello everyone,

I was out looking at DAP for diff guards for my 2001 DII and noticed they offer rock sliders for $239.95, here are my questions.

1. Does anyone have any experience with the sliders that DAP sells?
2. How is the quality, fit and finish?
3. Do you know of any problems with them?

TIA

Do they still list your options as "vinyl coated of galvanized."

1) Does vinyl really stick to metal well? Maybe - I don't know.

2)Just galvenized? Does that mean its looks like bare metal? Fugly.

I recently learned a valubale lesson about trying to go with the cheapest sliders I could find. It sucked and is still unresolved. Save yourself a headache and check into the usual suspects for a sliders purchase.

Dave,

You can't be serious. Those as as hideous as those elephant man diff guards a while back.

Thanks for the responses so far

Mike,
What sliders did you go with so I know to stay away from them?

I am not trying to go with the cheapest sliders possible, I just want to look at all of the options. A high Price does not always = quality

I am also looking at rockware since I live in Colorado but they are about 8 hours away and would need the vehicle in the shop

Again thank you, this is why I am asking to make sure I dont make a mistake.

John,

They looked kind of tall and like they stick out but the picture is not very good so I thought I would ask.

I wish everyone had a website as nice as EE, clean, clear pictures and you can even click on them to get a larger picture (what a concept).

As always your opinion is appreciated

Thanks

I got a set of FUBAR Rovers North DII sliders. I think their manufacturer is still working the kinks out of their DII sliders and I was a test monkey. However,RN is making it up to me with good discounts on some other items I need so it will be all good in the end.

I ordered Safari Gard - two weeks later, I still can't get a tracking number from them. The sliders saga continues....

BTW, where are you at in Colorado? I'm in Highlands Ranch.

Mike,

I live in the Fort Collins area about 1 hour north down I-25 from where you are.

I may see if I can get some fellow LR owners together to do Kelly Flats or Coney Creek this summer let me know if you are interested.

I just got my Rover in November so I haven't joined a club yet. I have heard a lot of positive things about both. I think I am leaning towards Rover Riders though. Have you joined either one?

Put me on your email list for when you get a trail ride together, I haven't done any up your way since moving to CO.
