Lucifer (Lucy on good days) had a fender bender with a Corolla that decided to dart across an intersection. When I picked her up from the shop, I noticed the bumper is different...has cutouts for fog lamps. I was told this is because there's such a huge backorder on the original bumper, so they substitute this style. Looks funny without the lights, so I asked LR what it would cost to get 'em installed. $600, which includes some type of kit, although it's pre-wired. Sounds spendy to me. Is this going to be like the cd changer I added, which had to be LR? |

It is pretty common for people around here to remove their lights when they take off either the air-damn or the entire bumper for offroading purposes. You could probably ask around and find someone here who will sell you the lights for almost nothing, you could then install them yourself (very easy if your truck is pre-wired). I would send you mine but they are at my parents house in Louisiana and I really don't know where they are exactly. $600 is bullshit. |

Oh yeah, if you do find some lights on here and don't want to mess with installing them yourself take them to the body shop and tell them that since they installed a different airdamn without clearing it with you first they now get to install the lights free-of-charge. |

Thanks, Carter, I was thinking the same thing myself about having the shop install them! But if you saw how they delivered her after 3 weeks for a supposed 10-day repair, I'd be better off supergluing the damned things on! This is the shop that LR refers body work to, also. Waiting for them to get the parts to do the repair correctly, although they were supposed to have had them last week. Damned Corolla! |

Yeah I'd suggest putting an ad in the "wanted" section of the board. Somebody will probably have a set. I'm planning on cutting off my air dam one of these days, probably after I get my 235/85 tires in the next month or so. You can have mine at that point if we remember and if you're still looking for them... |

SELL THE NEW BUMPER AND INSTALL AN ARB WITH A WINCH. THIS WOULD LOOK EVEN BETTER THAN LIGHTS. ALSO, WHAT DEALER SENT YOU TO THIS BODY SHOP SO I CAN MAKE SURE NO ONE I KNOW GOES TO THAT BODY SHOP? |

Land Rover Houston North. Shop is Champion's Collision. Molding on the sides is coming off and you could see where they'd only pressed it on every 4" or so; broke the cheater panel that covers the side mirror mechanism inside the window and just left it; hood will not open (said that LR hood springs are really tight, although shop mgr couldn't open it either...BS); hood prop latch doesn't hold and prop is flopping freely under the hood; lost the screws for my license plates; used/forced 2 screws to put the rear plate on and left the gasket hanging by one screw; bubbles and dull spots in the paint on both fenders, etc. There was also a superficial scrape with grease on it, like someone in the shop bumped it, and they tried to say that these things happen when you park and you never notice it. Told them I know every ding on it and that wasn't there...they had to buff it out. I plan on getting a full brush guard...wish I'd had it the day of the accident! (yeah, guys, I'm something near a mall crawler or soccer mom...just waiting for some snow!) |

...and the new headlamp assy doesn't work. They jiggled some wires, it came on, I turned the lights off and back on and it didn't work, they jiggled them again, but it went out that night. They acted as if it was a LR quality issue, which isn't relevant. And the headlamp wasn't aligned, although they charged .4 hrs for alignment. Ok, now I'm done bitchin'! |

Damn that sucks. Don't worry about not having the brush guard, it just would have been one more busted up thing to deal with. I personally wouldn't ever consider putting a brush guard on a truck, I have seen way to many times where they make things worse by bending up into the hood making what would be just a fender bender something a little more serious. |
