I bought a brush bar that came off a slightly order disco I and it had some trouble clearing the bumper when installing it. In the middle of the bumper there is a peice of plastic that holds the license plate off the front of the car a little. The brush guard would not clear the bumper if this peice of plastic was left on. That plastic peice appears to be a little bigger on a disco 99 I then on the older disco that we took the guard off of. Is my whole bumper differnt or just that plastic peice? Can I buy the "older" version of that plasitic peice and put it on my bumper? |

The plinth is different on trucks with our without a brush guard. You need to get the right one. Kyle |

Kyle is right about the different plastic pieces. If your state doesn't require a front tag, just remove the plastic and go without. That's what I did and it doesn't look bad. I don't have a photo gallery on this site but if you look at Brent Fox's. He doesn't have the plastic piece and you can see how it would look. |

That is what I did, I just removed the plastic peice for now. But was looking to just buy the right one. Do I need a older year one plastic or is a plastic for bumpers with brush guards? |

It's a "special" plastic piece made to clear the brush guard, regardless of the year of the bumper. Is your '99 a D1 or D2? I may soon have the plastic piece you're looking for (soon meaning within a month). Let me check on that. |

Is is a 99 D1. It does not appear to be made to clear the brush guard. I just assumed it was differnt for my year not cause it came factory without the guard. In NJ you do need a front plate. |

If it is plastic can't you cut it to fit around the brush bar allowing the brush bar to sit back more? Rico |
