It is as easy as doing the pads? I heard you need a special tool? Any advice would be appreciated - thanks

Also, how about those total rebuild kits on Atlantic British - anyone ever use those? Come with directions?

I used the rebuild kit from AB, and was very happy with it. However, it does not come with any instructions.

For instructions, check out the tech section on the Expedition Exchange web site.

You do not need any special tools except for a BIG phillips screw driver, (I think it was #1 or #2 size) and possibly something heavy to break the rotor off the hub. All four of mine, after 30k miles were very stubborn. I ended up using a 12 pound rubber coated diving weight to break it loose by hitting the rotor on the bottom inside.

I HAVEN'T SEEN THE REBUILD KIT BUT IF IT INCLUDES CALIPER PARTS THEY ARE PROBABLY NOT NEEDED. UNUSUAL FOR THESE TRUCKS TO HAVE CALIPER PROBLEMS DUE TO THE BRAKE FLUID FLUSH EVERY 30K (IF IT'S BEEN DONE). IT WILL ALSO VOID THE WARRANTY ON THE CALIPERS IF YOU ARE UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY. I WOULD JUST PUT THE NEW ROTORS AND PADS ON THE TRUCK, GREASE THE CALIPER SLIDE PINS, AND HEAD DOWN THE HIGHWAY.
