I bought a 99 DII used (9000 miles). Severe cupping on the original Goodyear 18" tires. Cupping is front AND rear (must have been rotated by first owner). Pressures were 28F / 38R as recommended in the manual. I am running 40/40 now, but they are noisy on the highway. I don't go off-road. What do you recommend for replacement highway tires? I'd like something quiet & comfortable. Are Pirelli Scorpion ST's good for the 18" Disco? |

Not a lot of options for the 18" rims. I've run the Michelin XPCs, but understand they are no longer available. What size are you running? Just make sure you get a good balance and alignment when you get the tires and you should be fine. |

Tires are the originals: Goodyear Wrangler HP 255/55 - 18. Tirerack.com offers several Pirellis, Michelins, & others, besides the Goodyear Wranglers. BTW, my spare is another Goodyear Wrangler HP 255/55 - 18 (still new). |

just don't get another set of Wranglers, everyone I know who has ever gotten them with a new vehicle has hated them. |

Yeap, lose the Wranglers.. Mine are cupping too and are super noisy at speed. I hear the Pirelli Scorpions are good, that's 2nd hand info. |

I read somewhere if you bitch at the GoodYear people they will pro-rate your tires and replace with some others - not sure. They were not recalled but everyone has had those problems so they might be willing to do something. |

Robert Rubenzik (Hazilim), Without a lift, I would recommend the 265/70 R16 Bridgetsone Dueler AT that comes with a 50,000 mile warranty. From my experience, I enjoyed them on the highway and especially in the rain. Good tire overall to include moderate off-roading. Paul '00 Pig |

Hi I had chopping on my tires as well----I tried TOYO tires----than switched to the Michelin 4x4 synchrones---they are expensive---but to be honest --they are truly made for the ROver--and the performance is excellent---if you can afford it this is the tire to put on--I promise you will not be dissapointed---- |

I hadn't been able to find XPCs for my 98 at any tire stores: they had all gone to synchrones. I had gone to Sam's to get some regular old Michelins when the tire guy said "we have a bunch of them in the warehouse down in Florida." He was right and I had a set the next week. |
