Since you guys seem to be the experts and Master Land Rover mechanics! I put a 2"lift on my 97 Disco, and am getting a metal on metal rubbing sound under the truck. This occurs at speeds around 40mph all the to 80mph. The noise comes when the gas is let off and put back on, mostly between the threshold of coasting and accelerating. I replaced the rear drive shaft, transfer case, etc... I even removed the front drive shaft and am still getting the noise. OME shocks are also on the truck. By the way, the 5900.00 for the Transfer Case was a misprint. |

The sound that I am getting sounds like rotors being shaved down at an garage. |

Pull the drive shafts and give them a look. If they are going bad, you are about to have a very bad day. It sounds to me like your UJoints could be on their vary last legs (bearing needles are completely toasted). Thanks, Mike B. |

a change in driveline angles could load a bad pinion bearing differently.you could check for a loose pinion bearing while checking your u-joints. |
