I have 95 Disco with 4" lift(2" susp and 2" body) that has 255/85 BF Goodrich KM's mounted on factory rims. I love tires offroad but are to loud, to firm and leave you with little turning radius. I'm going to purchase America Racing steel rims (for offset gain) for my offroad rims. I installed the factory tires but on the factory rims(235/70) but with the lift I look like a dope! Thanks for the input Tim

I know that 235/85s just barley miss it when they are mounted on AR wheels -I'm not sure if you could go any bigger or not but maybe.

Ok,

As per my knowledge, you can adjust the steering stops so that nothing rubs on anything (if you should so desire...), or let everything rub together, to have that special, intimate bond...

I have 245/75 on my '97 and they ONLY rub when I turn ALL THE WAY to the right. Even a little, small bit less than all the way, they don't rub.

I did however have to cut the back edge of the rear fenders a bit, because they would hit if I were off road and in a situation where one wheel was stuffed. There are some great pictures in the tech section showing the exact cut I did (some one else though, I learned from there too).

I don't think he wants to have to adjust the steering stops, hence all his bitching about losing turning radius w/ his current tires.

BJ, do you have American Racing wheels??? They have a different back spacing that will affect whether a tire rubs or not.

Thanks for the input. I bought some 265/70 16 Michelin's today and will post if they rub or not. Tim

Adjust your bump stops to match any particular tire/rim set up. It isn't hard. I always back mine down to where they just rub, but barely. Then I know I'm getting full turning radius. Also, if you get modified radius arms, like RTE's, they are thicker and that changes how much the tire rubs.

Timothy Put a picture up when you get those tires on if you get the chance

I've got 265/75 MTR's on GCR rims and they have never rubbed on the radius arms. If they did, I'd just do what Enoch said.

When I went for the 32 inch (750-16 but will be transitioning to 235/85 at next change) I installed the 6.5 steel tim from the 130 (ANR 1547 I think)- which conveniently have an inner rim edge 10mm further outboard than the stock alloys. As a result I have over an inch of clearence on the radius arms with the 32 inchers on. And since they are half an inch or 12.5mm narrower than the alloy don't stick out any further. I think this is your solution if you want to pony up the bucks
I think the wolf rim is slightly different but cannot recall the specifics. RN has a special on wolfs $74
