THis may have posted twice. I have a pioneer cd changer that should fit my 96 disco. I know that you have to rewire the control harness to make it work. Has anybody done this? Also the driver's side window will not roll up or down. THe motor is running but the window is not moving THanks Bryan |

Bryan, Your Disco should have the wiring for the changer already installed. Both of mine have and it appears that all of the others have as well. A three wire connector for power and a sixteen pin data cable connection are it. I am not sure on the 96, but my 98 has the changer under the passenger seat. My 94 had it under the drivers seat, but there were some design changes after 95. As for the driver side window not moving, you say you can hear the motor running; it sounds as if the the connector pin has broken or somehow come out of the track. I believe that in the tech section there is a blurb about the window system. If not, e-mail me and I can send you a zip of the appropriate pages from the MY95/96 workshop manual. Bill |

Your window sounds like the nylon bushing broke. This is an easy fix. I used a washer assortment and a rubber grommet assortment available in the HELP section of your auto parts store. The washer will go on the regulator arm and the grommet will keep it in place. Once you pop the door panel off you will see how easy it is. If you go to the dealer the will charge you for the whole regulator. Charles |
