I have my drivers door apart. I have the motor off. I checked it, and it works, the gear turns and everything. What I dont know , is what it is the motor geared to. IF someone could explain to me how it works that would be GREAt!!! |

The arm is attached to the channel on the window with a nylon washer. If the regulator arm is not attached the nylon bushing is broken. |

The motor fits into a geared wheel that drives the arm that runs the windows up and down. If you have the motor out, you should be able to look behind where it came out and see some teeth to a gear that the motor is supposed to mate to. The gear the motor mates to is not a complete circle, rather a large radius arc. Keep digging! Why did you pull the motor out? What was the window doing it wasn't supposed to be doing,or what wasn't it doing that it was supposed to? I found in my truck that after pursuing a new regulator, the problem was that the motor bolts hadn't been tightened well enough and it cammed itself out of the keyhole slots, eventually pullingthe wiring harness out so it seemed as though it was completely dead. When I tore it apart, I found all I needed to do was reorient the motor and tighten it back up. BUT-many others have had far more serious problems with their windows-for once, I got lucky. Paul |
