Hello all,

Was wondering what you guys recommend, either BFG AT's in 245/75/16 or Dunlop radial rover RT's. I've heard good things regarding the AT's. Would consider BFG MT's but would probably be too loud for my liking. Any input would be appreciated. Cheers.

Sincerly,

Umang

I have the R/Ts (as many others do), I think they're great, very quiet on the road with very good traction off-road. They are not mud tires, however, so if you find a lot of mud, I'd say go with an MT. I'm not sure about the mileage you can expect, I've only had my R/Ts for about 2k miles so far. There are other discussions re this topic you can check out and depending on your requirements, you would be happy with either.

I also have the RT's and love them. I have always been a BFG fan until I made the switch, mostly due to price. This winter they have been incredible in the snow. I am hoping to get them down to moab this spring, for a real test. But so far they have been great, you wont go wring with either tire.

I DON'T like ATs. Had 'em on an FSJ, they might as well have been slicks when you were in anything with the slightest bit of mud.

I've got R/Ts on my Disco, and love them. If these ever do wear out (which, w/ 20k on 'em and no noticable tread loss, it looks like it might be awhile before they do), I'll definitely get R/Ts again.

IMHO, YMMV.....

DUnlop mud rovers rock. Got them on the Disco, and they look a LOT like the BFG's but cost a lot less and have as good or better grab in the mud. and they are pretty good in rain, as good or bettter than the worn stock tires and not too much louder, esp. for a mud tyre

Was that the drivers fault or the tires fault?

I have to tell you, that looks like a great way to work on underbody maitenance. No, really - imagine how easy it would be to put on underbody protection, exhaust system, Rotoflex to U-joint swap...

I might order some TrXus tires right now!
