Newbie Question,

I have a 97 4.6 HSE, the rear ride height is stuck at low and does not change anymore, while the front still works. Can anyone give me some suggestions?

Thanks

It could be anything from a leaky airbag, to a height sensor, to a valve block-if you take it to a LR dealer, they are only going to tell you the same thing and proceed to replace(LR Doesn't repair anything, remember that!) whatever the testbook says caused the fault. If you do however go to the dealer to get the problem resolved, have them recalibrate the EAS, and from that point ask them to spray the liquid on your bags first to see if there is a leak. If one or more of the bags are leaking, then choose to have them replaced at a cost of around 140.00 per bag(I get a discount so my cost is around 125.00), if it is the valve block, contact Rovers North and purchase the valve block repair kit- If its a height sensor, then it shouldn't cost much to repair-
In other words, get ready to start having your EAS parts, and components replaced- fault days ahead if you continue to ignore the problems-
Do what I did to my 96 4.0( convert to coils) It was around $980.00 to do the entire job, and it was about 3hours long- The kit for the 4.0-4.6 Range Rover is out and all the vendors carry it-
If you still want to keep the *stupid* EAS, which in my opinion has not one real purpose(you'll probably disagree, but its ok) keep an extra account open with funds to spend on all the hassels of your LAND ROVER dealership, and keep gas in your other car for when you'll either follow behind the flat bed that carries you Rover into your dealer, or for the transportation when the dealer keeps your car forever just because they can-

I am interested in converting my 95 4.0se to coils, where did you get your kit and how was the install, how do you like the performance of the springs compared to the air bags?

Thanks.
