Drivers' door lock- funny sound?

Unlocking works fine, but when I lock the driver's door. It makes a funny sound like something is trying to catch or a gear is hitting against something. This only happens when I'm locking the door. Also, I purchased a new battery for the lock control and it still doesnt work.
