I've read the archives on the rust issue for the Alpine windows but I'm unsure if anyone has actually done this themselves. Is it a DIY job or better to spend the $ and get it done. John |

What year is yours? I took my 96 in about a year ago and the dealer fixed it under warranty. |

I took in my 97 to the dealer to have this fixed. They did it free of charge with no questions asked. I actually had to tell them that there was an unconditional warrantee on corrosion. They looked it up and said, "You're right" I think it is for 10 years, but I may be wrong. |

Do you have to be the original owner for the corrosion warranty ? |

The corrosion warranty for my 1996 Discovery was 6 years. Unfortunately it expired in July, and in October I discovered some rust under the driver's side alpine window. My dealer, though, tried to fix it under their "good-will" policy, but not a very good job. I'm still trying to find someone who can do that work. No-one seems interested because it really isn't much of a rust spot: too much effort for so little work. |
