I just finished a wash, and driving down a road about 55 mph. I slowed to turn onto a side street, and as I turned I noticed I had no power steering, and soon learned that my engine had stopped. I coasted to the side of the road, turned down the radio, and heard a "click click click click" (about 7 or 8 times a second), from behind the pasenger side of the foot area. Sounded like a relay gone crazy.

I tried to restart, and turn the key off and restart again, but it wouldn't go.

I opened up the glove box (all the way) revealing the electronics and started touching stuff (key was still in the on position), I could feel the clicking close to the thing titled Window Lift ECU in this picture.
ecu

I messed and messed, and finally I touched something (???) in the same neighborhood, and the clicking faded to a stop. I then cranked the engine again, and it took a bit to get the fuel back and startedand ran fine.

Because of the lack of fuel at the start, it seems like something is related to a fuel problem.

Could anybody help me? I don't EVER want that scare again, Halloween is gone!!

Thanks

If you used a high pressure gun (for the wash)to clean your undercarage sometimes a mist of water gets under the bonnet which settles on the electrical system, which can cause a relay problem of some type. This has happend to me, It just needs time to dry it should be okay.

But it ran fine right after the wash, I guess the water could have taken some time to drip onto whatever the problem was?..?...

Also it seems like I have been hearing an odd click in that part of my truck over this past week and weekend, then, it would only occur when I was turning, and only one click.

I just thought something was rolling around under the seat and paid it no mind, maybe it's the same thing..?..?...

I would call your center and run it by a service person, they have given me help brainstorming before. As to the knocking I have no idea. When it happened to me it ran then cut off, I called the center and they told me what prob. happended and to give it some time to dry out. When I was trying to turn it over I did hear clicking and at times it would turn on but when I placed it in drive it would stall (as if it was not getting any gas). Again I would call your center in the morning. If your center sucks call 1.801.847.4000 ask for John McCombie he knows his shit, tell him Rick w/the Willow D1 sent you.
